Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is transmitted directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or contact submission as needed to answer it. The message remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may automatically receive technical details about that visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- Pages opened and approximate time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser type and version
- Referring website, when available
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We and our analytics services may use them to understand traffic patterns, including popular pages and exit points. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a query to the selected search partner
- Finding and repairing technical problems
- Operating the site and maintaining performance
- Understanding which pages visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The content identifies where Yoakum County records can be requested from the sheriff, court clerks, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal-record files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the site's search boxes. Their privacy policies govern information submitted through those tools. Each provider controls its own retention, processing, and sharing practices, so review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Yoakum County government, Texas agencies, court resources, legal services, or outside search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their systems to track activity across websites for targeted ads. We do not operate those systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be available to these limited categories:
- Analytics services used to measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that process a query
- Advertising networks that serve ads
- Government bodies or law enforcement when valid legal process requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard safeguards for information in our control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor submitted personal data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Texas privacy rights may apply under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Texas Business and Commerce Code Chapter 541. Public records obtained from Yoakum County agencies are separately governed by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, while DPS criminal-history dissemination is addressed by Government Code Sections 411.083 and 411.135. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request access to personal data held about you
- Ask that inaccurate data be corrected
- Request deletion where the law provides that right
- Opt out of covered forms of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. An updated version will appear here with a new effective date, and continued use will be subject to that revision.
